How to Check Which Baby Food Maker Parts Are Dishwasher Safe

A baby food maker may include a cup, lid, blade assembly, basket, seal, and powered base. These parts can look equally washable even though their care instructions may be very different.

Before putting anything in a dishwasher, identify the exact model and map every removable piece. The manual—not the material’s appearance—should decide the cleaning method.

Create a quick parts map

Place the unplugged appliance on a clear counter and separate only the parts the manual describes as removable. Photograph the layout so reassembly is easier later.

Keep electronic bases, control panels, plugs, and charging areas away from water unless the manufacturer specifically states otherwise.

Look for model-specific dishwasher language

Check whether the manual says dishwasher safe, top-rack only, hand wash, or wipe clean. Do not apply directions from a different food maker with a similar cup or blade.

Pay special attention to seals and blade assemblies. Their cleaning and drying steps may differ from the main cup.

Dry before reassembly

Let moisture leave grooves, seals, and connection points completely. Reassemble in the order shown in the manual, then check that the lid and cup lock without force.

If a part remains cloudy, warped, loose, or difficult to seat, contact product support before the next use.

A simple checklist

  • Confirm the model number.
  • Separate powered and removable parts.
  • Follow the exact dishwasher wording.
  • Dry grooves and seals completely before assembly.

Frequently asked questions

Is every plastic part dishwasher safe?

No. Material alone does not determine the approved cleaning method.

Can the powered base be rinsed under a tap?

Do not do so unless the official manual explicitly allows it. Powered sections usually require a different cleaning method.
